School School School

Well, Hello there. If you didn't know from my long stretches between blog posts, I am busy. With family and school, it's just been so crazy. I am doing well in school for the most part. I have an A in Anatomy Physiology. Got a 97 on my first test of the semester. Nutrition class is like another science class. I have a high B in that class. Got an 84 on my first test there. Math... I WAS doing well. Until today. I completely bombed my first test. I haven't gotten my grade back but I feel like it could be anywhere from a C to an F. I don't know what happened there, because I thought I was grasping it. I had a 95% in that class with my homework and other things that I have done, but that test was vicious. I don't know if I was just too comfortable thinking I was going to score well, that when I started answering the questions I freaked out when my answers weren't making the equations work. It was so frustrating and I am still really sad about it.

Other than that life is going ok. I am facing my husband being deployed this summer. He is leaving for some training exercises before he deploys so I am going to be adjusting to life without him for a while. I am nervous, scared, and sad all in the same crazy ball of emotions.

I had a great Valentine's Day. Dave got me a bunch of the most awesome LP's.
Seriously some of my most favorite music ever.

Then I came home from class on the 14th to rose petals scattered on the kitchen table with season one and two of The Vampire Diaries!  I am a HUGE Vampire Diaries fan.  Geeky I know, but seriously, the first part of season one is really teeny bopper.  You can tell it's geared toward the young Twi-hards, but then it really picks up and now into season three it is REALLY good... like Alias good!  If you ever watched Alias, you know what I mean... just awesomness.  Then we cuddled on the couch and watched some Jim Gaffigan and he stayed up late watching Breaking Dawn pt 1.  What a guy.  So he majorly won on the Vday front.

Avery is growing like crazy.  She is in the 75% in height 95% in head circumference and off the charts in weight! ha.  The pediatrician told me not to worry, that I'm not over feeding her, that she is following her curve and that is what matters... She's just a chunker.  Chubby babies are cute anyway.
Here she is in an outfit her Aunt Janell got for her... she wasn't happy with me because I had just pulled off the band aids that were on her thighs from her shots.  :( But she's still cute!
Basically I just wanted to update you all and let you know that I am still alive and kicking ha.  Trying to tackle this school thing after being out for 12 years.  I think I'm putting too much pressure on myself to constantly perform the A status... but I think that's a good thing because I will force myself to do better next time when I underperform.  Gotta tackle math.  UGH.

Hope you all are doing well.  SERIOUSLY going to try hard this week to reply back to all of you people who still keep up with me.  I am out of classes this weekend so I will try and use the opportunity.

Hearts,
Amy

  1. That's great that you're doing well in school. Fingers crossed that you didn't bomb the test. I understand how stressful it feels when you're pretty sure you didn't do well on an exam.

I am praying for you all. Praying for peace for you and the kids and praying for safety as well as peace for Dave. You all always have and always will be in my prayers.

It sounds like you had a wonderful Valentine's! And Avery is wicked adorable!

We should attempt to hang out sometime soon (if schedules allow. Haha.)

  3. I am so glad you are doing very well in school. I know exactly what it is like going to school and taking care of a family. With him being deployed it will also be difficult but you got this! I did regular school and summer school while the husband was deployed it is hard but doable. Keep up the good work!!

  4. Amy, don't put too much pressure on yourself - you've got soooo much on your plate :D Math is just one of those prereqs you have to get out of the way, you won't need much of it in nursing (at least I don't think you do?) So just tell yourself that as long as you pass, it's ok to focus on the classes that teach you about all the stuff you'll need for your nursing job later! You're doing so awesome in the A&P class, so focus on that and don't stress about Math. You're not going into Economics :D And Avery is ADORABLE.
